Large Square Cushions

Each cushion is carefully made as follows:

• Size 20”x20” or 51cm x 51cm (approx.)
• 100% vintage Welsh wool blanket covering. There may be a possibility that the vintage Welsh blanket is mixed with another 100% wool plain blanket from a variety of origins e.g. Witney
• Colours and patterns vary immensely, either muted shades or vibrant hues mostly in a chequered pattern, Carthen weaves or tapestry designs
• Cushion pads are made from 100% polypropylene covers and 100% polyester filling which complies with BS 5852 Part 2 and is Ignition Source 2.
• Washing: The cushion pads are sponge clean only whereas all 100% wool covers are removable and can be washed on a wool wash at 40 degrees centigrade.
• All cushions are made without using any zips or buttons where possible for extra comfort.
• Each cushion is unique with colours and fabrics dependent upon availability.
• Pattern match is sought after whenever possible
• Due to the nature of the fabric (vintage), it is possible that some slight flaws or holes may be present. It is always the intention to minimise the possibility of this happening although it is difficult to achieve.

Heart Cushions

The embroidered heart cushion is made as follows:

• Size 14”x14” or 35.5cm x 35.5 cm approx. at the furthest points
• 100% vintage Welsh wool blanket covering varying from basic checks, Carthen weaves or tapestry designs
• The filling is 100% polyester
• Embroidery cottons are used. These are made from 100% mercerised cotton
• Washing: Every effort should be taken to sponge clean the cover in the event of becoming dirty. It may be possible to place the cushion inside a pillow case and wash in the machine on a wool wash to protect the embroidery, plump up and place on the washing line although this is only recommended as a last resort due to the possibility of the filling flattening.
• Due to the nature of the fabric (vintage), it is possible that some slight flaws or holes may be present. It is always the intention to minimise the possibility of this happening although it is difficult to achieve.

The heart cushions with flowers are made in the same way as the embroidered heart cushion with the following variations:

• Flowers are cut from a combination of vintage Welsh blanket and 100% wool plain blankets e.g. Witney. The edges of these flowers are left raw and are therefore susceptible to fraying
• Vintage or second-hand buttons are used in the centre of the flower. These are secured using embroidery cottons made from 100% mercerised cotton
• Washing: It is recommended that sponge cleaning should only be used due to the fragile nature of the flower and the fabric of the button used.
• Due to the nature of the fabric (vintage), it is possible that some slight flaws or holes may be present. It is always the intention to minimise the possibility of this happening although it is difficult to achieve.

Door Plaques

The door plaque is made as follows:

• Size approx 12.5” (height from the top of the sisal twine) x 10.5” wide. The height of the plaque itself is 9.5” at the highest to lowest point
• 100% vintage Welsh wool blanket covering varying from basic checks, Carthen weaves or tapestry designs
• The filling is 100% polyester
• Embroidery cottons are used. These are made from 100% mercerised cotton
• Washing: Every effort should be taken to sponge clean the plaque in the event of becoming dirty. It may be possible to place the plaque inside a pillow case and wash in the machine on a wool wash to protect the embroidery and sisal twine then plump up and place on the washing line although this is only recommended as a last resort due to the possibility of the filling flattening and twisting of the twine.
• Due to the nature of the fabric (vintage), it is possible that some slight flaws or holes may be present. It is always the intention to minimise the possibility of this happening although it is difficult to achieve.

Medium hearts

The medium hearts are made as follows:

• Size: height from top of the plaited sisal twine 9.5” (24m) x width 5 ¾” (14.5-cm). The height of the heart excluding twine is 5 ¾” at the highest to lowest points.
• 100% vintage Welsh wool blanket covering varying from basic checks, Carthen weaves or tapestry designs
• The filling is 100% polyester-Embroidery cottons are used. These are made from 100% mercerised cotton
• Washing: Every effort should be taken to sponge clean the plaque in the event of becoming dirty. It may be possible to place the heart inside a pillow case and wash in the machine on a wool wash then plump up and place on the washing line although this is only recommended as a last resort due to the possibility of the filling flattening and twisting of the twine.

Small hearts

The small hearts are made as follows:

• Size: the approximate length of the single piece of sisal twine is 9” (22.8-cm) on average. Height of the hearts is 3.5” (8.9-cm) x width 4” (10.1-cm) at the highest to lowest points.
• 100% vintage Welsh wool blanket covering varying from basic checks, Carthen weaves or tapestry designs
• The filling is 100% polyester
• Washing: Every effort should be taken to sponge clean the heart in the event of becoming dirty. It may be possible to place the heart inside a pillow case and wash in the machine on a wool wash then plump up and place on the washing line although this is only recommended as a last resort due to the possibility of the filling flattening and twisting of the twine.
• Due to the nature of the fabric (vintage), it is possible that some slight flaws or holes may be present. It is always the intention to minimise the possibility of this happening although it is difficult to achieve.

Hot Water Bottle

• Size: Approx. Height 14” (35.5-cm) x width 9” (22.8-cm) at the highest/widest points.
• 00% vintage Welsh wool blanket covering varying from basic checks, Carthen weaves or tapestry designs
• Embroidery cottons are used. These are made from 100% mercerised cotton
• The hot water bottle complies with BS1970:2006 and the manufacturers safety information is as follows:

Important Safety Information

Do not fill with water from the domestic hot water system as this can prematurely degrade the products.

Prevent the bottle from contact with hot surfaces

Prevent contact with oil and grease

When not in use, drain completely and keep with the stopper removed in a cool dry place

Prevent exposure to sunlight

Do not place anything on top of the bottle

Check the stopper for wear and damage at regular intervals

Warning: Hot water bottles can cause burns. Avoid prolonged direct contact with the skin.
 

Filling Instructions:

To fill your hot water bottle hold by the neck and fill in an upright position to a maximum of two-thirds capacity

Do not fill with boiling water

Remove excess air from your hot water bottle by placing onto a flat surface until water appears at the opening

The stopper should then be inserted and screwed sufficiently tight to ensure that there is no leakage

Finger tight should be adequate

Always ensure the water bottle is not too hot before giving to a child

Always use under adult supervision

Peg Bags

• Size: the approximate height of the peg bag from the tip of the wooden and metal hanger is 18.5” (47cm). The approximate width is 13” (33 cm) and the width of the front opening is approximately 6.5” (16.5-cm) although this does vary.
• 100% vintage Welsh wool blanket covering varying from basic checks, Carthen weaves or tapestry designs
• Approximately 12 wooden dolly pegs are included inside the peg bag
• The wooden coat hanger with metal hook is included with the peg bag
• Embroidery cottons are used. These are made from 100% mercerised cotton
• Washing: Every effort should be taken to sponge clean the peg bag in the first instance in the event of becoming dirty. It may be possible to place the peg bag cover (excluding pegs and hanger) inside a pillow case and wash in the machine on a wool wash then place on the washing line.

Large Sheep Cushions

• 100% vintage Welsh wool blanket covering. There may be a possibility that the vintage Welsh blanket is mixed with another 100% wool plain blanket from a variety of origins e.g. Witney
• Colours and patterns vary immensely, either muted shades or vibrant hues mostly in a chequered pattern, Carthen weaves or tapestry designs
• The sheep are cut from a combination of vintage Welsh blanket and 100% wool plain blankets e.g. Witney. The edges of these sheep are left raw but are embroidered onto the background using blanket stitch and are therefore susceptible to fraying
